The international ad campaign for the deluxe Mandarin Oriental hotel group “He’s a Fan/She’s a Fan” every year gathers more and more “fans” from all over the world who regularly stay in the Mandarin Oriental hotels. This year the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will welcome 3 of its new celebrity fans: Sophie Marceau, Christian Louboutin and Kevin SpaceySophie Marceau was photographed during one of her recent stays in a suite of the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong.
The story has been durably woven between the most well loved shoemaker on the planet and the hotel group. From March and until December 2011, an operation « Paint the town Red » has been organized at the Madarin Oriental Hyde Park (a stay package including a pedicure and a VIP welcome at the Louboutin boutique in the British capital. And a short video-clip of Christian Louboutin will appear in the new ad campaign of the Ipad Mandarin Oriental, launched in September will be announced in the Asian editions of the Financial Times, The Economist and The Wall Street Journal.
In addition to his brilliant acting career in Hollywood, Kevin Spacey has also been the Art Director of Old Vic Theatre in London since 2003. Reflecting his true passion for the stage, Kevin Spacey chose to pose in his dressing room at the Old Vic Theatre for the ad campaign.
The choice of the foundation that will receive a donation from Mandarin Oriental hotel group is The Kevin Spacey Foundation that helps young actors, writers, directors and producers.
The campaign aims at increasing the renown of the Mandarin Oriental name internationally. For the last ten years it has associated the fan, acknowledged emblem of the group to international bold-faced names that regularly stay at the Mandarin Oriental hotels and adepts of values of the hotel group. Since 2006, Mary McCartney has photographed fans in the place of their choice that, according to them, represent the idea of well-being. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group makes a donation to the charity of their choice as a sign of their gratitude.
Jill Kluge, Director of Communication of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has stated: “ We are as proud as ever of this advertising campaign that celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2010. We believe that it expresses simply and with strength and refinement the “personality” of Mandarin Oriental. By emphasizing people who are demanding in everything we have succeeded in showing thee quality of our hotels in a much more interesting manner than by classic hotel advertising.”
And so Sophie Marceau, Christian Louboutin and Kevin Spacey have joined the 20 personalities that are already fans of the Mandarin Oriental: IM Pei, Lance Armstrong, Michelle Yeoh, Jane Seymour, Kenzo Takada, Jerry Hall, Vanessa Mae, Vivienne Tam, Barry Humphries, Frederick Forsyth, Darcey Bussell, Bryan Ferry, Liam Neeson, Helen Mirren, Maggie Cheung, Sigourneyy Weaver, Sir David Tang, Harry Connick Jr., Hélène Grimaud and Sa Ding Ding.
